In this opportunity, the theme "Simple Present" will be worked on.
Objective
Integrate the Grammar Translation Method with the Communicative Approach so that students can communicate effectively in the Present Simple. The English class will be directed to intermediate level students in a university, between the ages of 18 and 25. Students have a basic knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary.
Description of the activity
Presentation:
1. The teacher presents the structure of the Present Simple and its use in daily communication. (Communicative Approach). 2. The teacher shows the students how to translate sentences from Spanish to English using the Grammar Translation Method.
Practice:
1. Students work in pairs to complete sentences in the Present Simple. (Communicative Approach) 2. Students practice translating sentences from Spanish to English and vice versa in pairs. (Grammar Translation Method)
Production:
1. Students create sentences in the Present Simple about their daily routine and share them with the class. (Communicative Approach) 2. 2. Students work in groups to create a short dialogue using the Present Simple. (Communicative Approach and Grammar Translation Method).
