MALALA YOUSAFZAI
Malala Yousafzai is a very young Pakistani girl, known for her human rights advocacy and for the right to education in her country, Pakistan. Malala was born in Mingora (Pakistan) the 12th of July 1997 and won Nobel Peace Prize in 2014. When she was eleven years old she started writing a blog for english BBC channel, where she spoke about Taliban obscurantism regime and its ferocious actions against Minigora and Pakistani citizens. In particular she describes oppressions against women, that cannot employ their fundamental rights, like the right of education. On 9 October 2012, while on a bus, she was shot during an assassination attempt. Malala remained unconscious and in critical condition, admitted to Peshawar military hospital, she survived thanks to a delicate surgical operation. Her condition later improved enough for her to be transferred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, where she totally recovered. An important event in her life was her speech at the UN Headquarters, wearing Benazir Bhutto's white shawl, making an address in support to girls' education and in general of all children in the world. Another important prize she won in 2013 is Sakharov prize, for freedom of thoughts. In August 2017 she was admitted at the Oxford University, and she is currently studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics.
