The Washington Naval Conference The Kellogg-Briand Pact The London Naval Conference of 1930
The Washington Naval Conference
The Washington Naval Conference was held from November 12, 1921 to February 6, 1922. It was organized by the United States in an attempt to resolve the growing tensions between the major naval powers of the day. THE INVITED COUNTRY : A total of nine countries were invited to participate in the Washington Naval Conference: the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, France, Italy, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the Netherlands.
HOW DID THE EVENT BRING ABOUT PEACE ? The Washington Naval Conference limited naval spending and reduced tensions among the naval powers. The Washington Naval Treaty of 1922 established limitations on the tonnage and types of warships that the naval powers were allowed to build. The United States and the United Kingdom also agreed not to build naval bases in the Pacific, which helped ease tensions with Japan.
MY OPINION ON SUCESS ? The Washington Naval Conference succeeded in limiting naval spending and reducing tensions between the great powers. Despite this, some countries, such as Japan, left the conference with some bitterness

The Kellogg-Briand Pact
The Kellogg-Briand Pact, also known as the Pact of Paris, was signed on August 27, 1928THE INVITED COUNTRY : Fifteen countries, including the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the Soviet Union, were involved in the Kellogg-Briand Pact.
HOW DID THE EVENT BRING ABOUT PEACE ? The Kellogg-Briand Pact aimed to promote peace by committing signatories to renounce war as a means of settling international disputes. It was supported by public opinion, which was increasingly concerned about the human and economic costs of war.
MY OPINION ON SUCESS ? The Kellogg-Briand Pact was not very effective in preventing international conflicts, including the Second World War. Some historians argue that the Pact was used as a diplomatic cover for national interests and fostered a false sense of international security. Therefore, it can be argued that the Pact was not successful in achieving its objectives.

THE INVITED COUNTRY : The major naval powers including the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, France, and Italy were involved in the London Naval Conference of 1930.
HOW DID THE EVENT BRING ABOUT PEACE ? The London Naval Conference aimed to reduce naval armaments and establish limitations on future construction. Although the resulting treaty did not ultimately prevent the Second World War, it contributed to reducing tensions between the signatory countries and stabilizing the naval balance of power in the years leading up to the war.
MY OPINION ON SUCESS ? The London Naval Conference was largely successful in achieving its objectives of limiting naval armaments and reducing tensions between the signatory countries. However, its effectiveness was limited by the failure of several important naval powers to participate in the conference, and the rise of new military technologies such as aircraft carriers that were not covered by the treaty. Overall, while the conference had some positive effects, it was not enough to prevent the outbreak of the Second World War.
