first content

  • It has to answer what is required in the type of writing: essay or letter/email to a friend.
  • The student has to give his/her point of view and explain the reason why.
  • They have to use linkers such as: However, Nevertheless, as , even if, though, although, so, first, second, on one hand, on the other hand, to conclude, as a summary, To summarize, ...........

It has to include the adequate vocabulary to the level..

  • The message has to be clear.

First writing structure

It has to have: an introduction ( 3 or 4 lines); the body ( it can have 2 or 3 paragraphs and around 11 lines) and the conclusion ( 3 lines) .

  • INTRODUCTION : they can start paraphrasing eg Is today's tv still good value for money? Today's tv is still good value for money as ........ or they can start with Nowadays ........
  • BODY: First, second, third, on one hand , on the other hand, and linkers.

CONCLUSION: to finish, to conclude, as a summary, to summarize,.....

  • Number of words: 140 to 190. The students cannot overcome the limit of words because the examiners won't correct it.

First grammar

1st and 2nd conditionals: If it rains, I will go to your house; If I were rich, I would buy a porsche.

  • No contractions are allowed, except if they choose a letter to a friend.
  • I always recommend them to choose it becausei it is very easy for them and they can use informal language.
  • PASSIVE VOICE: It is known that ..........

  • There are some grammar points that students must include to demonstrate that they have the First level.
  • PRESENT PERFECT: has/have + past participle of verbs.
  • RELATIVE CLAUSES : who, which, that, whose, when , where.

CAE WRITING STRUCTURE , CONTENT AND GRAMMAR

CAE CONTENT

  • It has to answer what is required in the type of writing: essay or report or proposal letter.
  • The student has to talk about a topic and give ideas about it. They have to explain the reason why they are sustaining those arguments.
  • They have to use linkers such as: As a matter of fact, indeed, notwithstanding, so as to, and on top of that, furthermore, moreover, eventually, however, Nevertheless, as , even if, though, although, so, firstly, secondly, on one hand, on the other hand, to conclude, as a summary, To summarize, ...........
  • They have to use adequate vocabulary
  • The student has to use academic and formal language.
  • No contractions allowed.

CAE STRUCTURE

  • It has to have: an introduction ( 3 or 4 lines); the body ( it can have 2 or 3 paragraphs and around 18 lines) and the conclusion ( 3 lines) .

  • Includes images and entertains.
  • BODY: Simmilarly, subsequently, notwithstanding, it has been shown that, additionally, these factors contribute to,...... They have to propose arguments that have to
be supported.
  • They have to use aademic and formal language.
  • No contractions
  • CONCLUSION:they have to highlight the idea they think best. linkers, In brief, it has been shown that, to sum up, thus, hence,...........

CAE GRAMMAR

  • There are some grammar points that students must include to demonstrate that they have the level.
  • PASSIVE VOICE: It is generally believed, It is commonly known, ......
  • PAST PERFECT : HAD + PAST PARTICIPLE OF THE VERB
  • 3RD CONDITIONAL: if there had been more cookies, I would have eaten more
