'"If you don’t want a house built, hide the nails and wood. If you don’t want a man unhappy politically, don’t give him two sides to a question to worry him; give him one. Better yet, give him none."

"How like a mirror, too, her face. Impossible; for how many people did you know that refracted your own light to you? People were more often—he searched for a simile, found one in his work—torches, blazing away until they whiffed out. How rarely did other people’s faces take of you and throw back to you your own expression, your own innermost trembling thought?"

Poetry
This poem emphasizes the extent to which a person will go to please others. They prefer to spend their time living to the expectations set for them. Additionally, it reveals the blindfold many people have when viewing their effect on people. Ignorant people are unable to view situations for themselves. These individuals are incapable of deciphering truth and lies.
This song introduces the idea that lies are better than the truth. It almost mocks those who lie because it's expected. The line "If I could turn the page" can be a play on words because in Fahrenheit 451 there are no books. The short and repetitive song emphasizes the beauty of accepting lies and choosing to live with them.
Little Lies by Fleetwood MacWritten by:Christine McVie, Eddie Quintela
Fahrenheit 451 introduces relevant and significant discussions about censorship, individuality, and ignorance. It emphasizes the importance of researching topics on our own instead of relying on what we're told. We have the privilege, which should be a right, to have books and spread information. When we are given the tools to become educated, ignorance is no longer a valid excuse.
