WASPS

LADYBUGS

Mosquito

Not only can mosquitoes carry diseases that afflict humans, but they also can transmit several diseases and parasites that dogs and horses are very susceptible to. These include dog heart worms, eastern equine encephalitis and West Nile virus. All mosquitoes share some common traits, such as a four-stage life cycle (egg, larva, pupa, adult).

wasps

There are 4,000 kinds of wasps in the United States. Typically, wasps are most active during the day and usually return to their nests at dusk. These pests are often seen flying around during the second half of summer and early fall when the colonies search for food that will sustain their queens during the winter.

MOTH

Goal 4

fly

If you’ve ever wondered why a flea infestation can get out of hand so fast, it’s due to their rapid reproductive cycle. A single fruit fly can lay around 500 eggs in her lifetime and the entire life cycle from egg to adult only takes about a week. 2 Not to be outdone, a single female housefly can lay up to 500 eggs over the span of just three to four days and repeat the cycle multiple times throughout her life. House flies typically live 15 to 25 days, but can survive up to two months under optimal conditions.3 So you can imagine how quickly their populations can increase.
