Present simple: positive, negative and questions
Objective:
Explain the different forms of the simple present tense mediated by grammatical translation method and the communicative approach for second language learners..
Contex:
This topic will be presented to female and male students between the ages of 14 and 16.
description of the activity
This section presents the different steps that are carried out for the realization of this activity. As a first step, an activity is done to test the previous knowledge of the students; this activity consists of grammatical rules in real contexts with positive sentences, negative sentences, and questions. Example: "Underline the correct words to complete the sentences," and then the teacher asks the students to translate these sentences into their native language to understand each sentence and memorize the new words they identified. As a next step, the teacher reads Hannah's story, which describes the work that Hannah does in a hospital. According to this story, the teacher asks the students to create a story in which they tell in the simple present tense the work they would do. To finish, the teacher asks each student to exchange notebooks and read the story of another classmate.
