What are apprenticeships?
Let's talk about the different types
By definition an apprenticeship is a paid job where the employee combines practical training in a job and study to gain valuable experience. Most commonly it is known as an alternative route to A Levels and University as it is an opportunity to learn hands on skills in a working environment from an early stage and get your qualifications alongside. Up till recently, many people may have thought that apprenticeships are only for vocational labour cousrses but that is most definitely not the case as there are different types of appnticeships available:

Are apprenticeships better?
Earn and Learn
Most people often go through the traditional path of going to university post A Levels. But now more recently we see the great amount of debt students are put under after going to University. Therefore, because of this degree apprenticeships have come more to light and rightfully are a strong alternative option to a range of university courses So, a few reasons why are the following:
You have the opportunities to travel and learn from professionals in the field
Network
In the end, you achieve your qualification with increased chances of employement
Qualification

FINDING AN APPRENTICESHIP
where can you look?
Whether you do or don't know what you want to do there are many options to locate the ideal apprenticeship for you:
In person
Online
When not knowing what type of apprenticeship you want to do whether it is advanced, higher or degree a great place to start to look is online. This way you can get information of all different types of opportunities and see which roles/industries may suit you and your interests. Through looking online, you can also find the requirements for applications and what type of candidate they're looking for, so it's also a good place for research pre-interview and assessment centres.
Besides looking online, you can equivalently search for apprenticeship opportunities in person and in some ways this can be easier as you receive the information directly. However, it might be a bit more difficult to access so it is usually best to initially see what is near by you/

No student debt
A degree apprenticeship offers the opportunity to gain valuable work experience while earning a degree. Apprenticeships are designed to provide practical on-the-job training, giving you the chance to develop the skills and knowledge required for a successful career in your chosen field.
Degree apprenticeships are often offered by leading employers who are looking to invest in the future of their workforce. This means that there may be opportunities for career progression within the company after completing the program.
Unlike traditional full-time degree programs, degree apprenticeships offer the chance to earn a salary while studying. This can help to ease the financial burden of pursuing a degree and can allow you to gain financial independence while still studying.
Another major advantage of degree apprenticeships is that they are funded by the employer and the government, so you won't have to take on any student debt to pay for your education.
