land and population exploitation

A great many people were taken from their villages, loaded on ships like cattle, where they traveled pressed to each other and in indescribable hygienic conditions. Those who arrived alive across the ocean were sold as slaves.

Africa since the time of colonialism has always been exploited for its resources, for this reason there have always been wars for the occupation of African territory. The population has been used as underpaid or free labour in the mines, in the fields, everywhere.

After the Second World War there was a period of increasing prosperity that did not involve the south of the world: the colonized countries remained without infrastructures and with inadequate hygienic conditions and are often not governed by democratic regimes. For this reason many people of those coutries try to go to richer places where they can survive.

the current situation

Right now in Afghanistan there are the Taliban in government, who have religious power. The Western forces left the country in 2021, then the situation worsened and over 60% of the population lives in a condition of severe poverty.

In Afghanistan there is a theocratic regime, so everyone must respect the laws, or they will be persecuted. Women have no autonomy, in fact they must be accompanied by a man of their family when they leave their house.

08.palestine

present inequalities in israel

After WWII and the Shoah the western Countries decided to give a Country to Jewish people. Since 1948 the State of Israel exists. It is in the land of ancient Palestine where also muslim populations live. There we find Jerusalem, sacred to Jews Muslims (and Christians).Israel is supported by western countries and it is advanced and rich. Palestinians live in miserable conditions so they often use terrorism to protest about it. Many think that a solution to this modern inequality could be to create two separate States.
