Overview of Activity
Project-Based Learning Activity: Create Your Own Podcast Students will be asked to explore storytelling and communication by creating their own podcast on a chosen theme. This activity encourages students to develop their writing, speaking, communication, and critical thinking skills. The students will work in small groups of four or five to research topics, write and produce a podcast episode, and use technology to edit and share their final products.
Digital Tools
- Audio recording software
- Example: Audacity, GarageBand
- Research tools
- Example: websites, online databases
- Podcast hosting platform
- Example: Anchor
- Collaborative platform for communication with peers

Final Product
Each group of students will create a 10-15 minute podcast episode using the digital tools on the previous slide. They will incorporate features such as storytelling, interviews, or discussions to engage their audience. The students are responsible for writing a script, researching, recording the audio, and editing the final episode. When the students have finished their podcast episode, they will upload it to a shareable class resource to showcase their work. The class will have the opportunity to listen to and provide feedback on each other's podcast episodes.
