Gulu Elementary School

The school in the clouds

How do the students get there

The students need to pass by cliffs and sometimes they don´t go by foot but by mule or horse.They have to do this everyday during five long hours with turns and twists and a path that in its narrowest part is 40 cm wide,the kids get to schoolsuper tired and hperventilating.

The History of School

The school was hid from the public for 26 years, but after uncovered by the teacher Shen Quijun who realized that the school was in a bad condition to study and with the help of villagers he renovated the school.

About the School

The school was closed in 2011 The teacher who last teached at the Gulu school after it closed moved to another school on the village to continue teaching his students.

Children's Difficulties

Sinchuan children had to climb a mountain to study and even that didn't stop their desire to study or learn.They never gave up no matter the conditions
