Se connecter avec une adresse mail NEOMA BS

Etape 1 : Télécharger l'application Komodal 4th Place sur votre ordinateur : https://komodal.co/telecharger-komodal-4th-place/

Etape 2 : Cliquez sur le bouton "Email NEOMA BS" : une fenêtre s'ouvre pour vous permettre de vous connecter avec votre adresse mail prenom.nom@neoma-bs.fr (staff et professeurs) ou prénom.nom@neoma-bs.com (étudiants) et saississez votre mot de passe habituel NEOMA BS

Etape 3 : Vérifiez que votre prénom et votre nom sont correctement écrits puis cochez la case pour accepter les conditions d'utilisation du monde virtuel. Puis, cliquez sur "Create New Avatar" pour personnaliser votre avatar.

Créer son avatar dans le monde virtuel

Vous pouvez modifier l'apparence de votre avatar de la tête aux pieds ! Il vous suffit de cliquer sur les icônes à gauche de l'écran.

Déplacer son avatar dans le monde virtuel

En utilisant sa souris

Lorsque votre souris survole un espace vers lequel votre avatar peut se déplacer, l'icône d'une silhouette apparaît. Faites un clic gauche, votre avatar s'y déplacera.

Se téléporter

Il suffit de cliquer sur l'icône carte en haut à droite de votre écran. Une image de la carte s'affichera alors et vous pourrez sélectionner un point pour vous y téléporter.

En utilisant le Menu

Le menu ALLER liste les différents espaces dans lesquels vous pouvez vous téléporter.

Lorsque le monde virtuel s'ouvre, votre micro est coupé.

Cliquez sur l'icône dédié pour ouvrir votre micro. Sa couleur passera du rouge au vert.

Le monde virtuel a une détection vocale intégrée. Lorsque vous parlez, une bulle bleue apparaît au-dessus de votre avatar. Vous pouvez aussi maintenir la touche "1" de votre clavier pour utiliser la fonction "appuyer pour parler" : votre micro ne fonctionnera que lorsque cette touche sera enfoncée.

Ecran de présentation Pour utiliser un écran de présentation, cliquez simplement dessus. Une barre URL apparaîtra en bas à droite de votre écran, vous indiquant qu'il est actif. Utilisez-la comme un moteur de recherche classique pour naviguer sur le web.

Les emotes

Pour interagir avec votre public en animant votre avatar, utilisez vos raccourcis clavier ou écrivez le mot correspondant dans le chat public ! Vous pouvez utiliser les touches F1 à F8. Pour plus de commandes, tapez "/help" dans le chat.

Expérimentez, ajustez, répétez

Testez votre technologie Votre présentation étant virtuelle, votre public est probablement entouré de nombreuses distractions lorsqu'il y assiste : ne laissez pas la technologie se mettre en travers de votre prestation ! Un galop d'essai est essentiel pour que vous soyez à l'aise avec les fonctionnalités de la plateforme. Pour garantir la meilleure expérience possible, assurez-vous de disposer du même matériel et faites une répétition avec la même configuration technique (ordinateur, casque et connexion internet) que vous utiliserez le jour-J.

Tout est question de contenu et de connexion

La variété est clé de l'engagement. Sentez-vous libre d'utiliser différents outils pour impliquer le public : - une courte vidéo Youtube et assurez-vous d'avoir vérifié la qualité de l'audio et des images en amont - encouragez les questions dès le début de votre prise de parole et n'hésitez pas à utiliser le chat public pour communiquer avec votre audience - soyez actif : utilisez les emotes (touches de F1 à F8) pour animer votre avatar Travaillez vos slides Vos slides ne sont pas votre présentation mais restent essentielles dans votre mise en scène. Pour garder votre présentation claire, concise et visuellement attrayante, essayez de simplifier les données partagées, utilisez des images convaincantes et évitez de surcharger le texte.

Préparez un plan B

Envoyez vos slides et vidéo de backup en avance Même testée, la technologie peut vous jouer des tours... votre participation étant en ligne, il serait plus sûr d'enregistrer une vidéo de votre présentation. Bien que les chances soient très faibles, cela permettrait à votre hôte de diffuser votre présentation en cas de problème technique malencontreux. Dans le même esprit, envoyez vos diapositives aux modérateurs de l'évènement à l'avance pour éviter tout problème de chargement.

Step 1 : Download the app Komodal 4th Place on your computer : https://komodal.co/telecharger-komodal-4th-place/

Step 2 : Click on the button "Email NEOMA BS" : a windows opens so you can connect with your email address name.surname@neoma-bs.fr (staff and teachers) or name.surname@neoma-bs.com (students) and enter your usual NEOMA BS password.

Step 3 : Check that your name and surname are correctly spelled and tick the box to agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. Then, click on "Create a New Avatar" to personalize your avatar.

Etape 1 : Marion Dubreuille (marion.dubreuille@neoma-bs.fr) or Alexandre Allion (alexandre.allion@neoma-bs.fr) have applied to Komodal to join Komodal 4th Place.

Etape 2 : Komodal sends you an email. Press "Accept Invitation". You arrive on a Virbela page, define a password and click on "Register".

Etape 3 : Download the Komodal 4th Place application on your computer : https://komodal.co/telecharger-komodal-4th-place/

Etape 4 : Enter the login (your email address) and your password defined in step 2.

Etape 5 : Check that your first and last name are spelled correctly and then tick the box to accept the terms of use of the virtual world. Then click on "Create New Avatar" to customise your avatar.

You can change your avatar's appearance from head to toe! Just click on the icons on the left of the screen.

When you hover your mouse over a place your avatar can walk to, an icon of a person will appear. Left click on this area, your avatar will walk to where you clicked.

Teleportation

It is possible to teleport around the world. To do this, simply click on the map icon at the top right of your screen. An image of the map will be displayed and you can select a point to teleport to.

Use the Menu

The GO to menu lists all the room you can fast travel to.

Interact in the virtual world

When the virtual world opens, your microphone is muted.

Click on the dedicated icon to open your microphone. It will turn green to indicate that others can hear you.

The virtual world has built-in voice recognition. While you are speaking, a speech bubble will appear above your avatar's head. Alternatively, you can hold the "1" key to use the push-to-talk function : it opens your mic ; or use the "enter" toggle to open the text chat.

Presentation boards To use a presentation board, simply click on it. A URL bar will appear in the bottom right corner of your screen to show you it is active. Use this bar like a regular browser to navigate the web.

To interact with your audience through your avatar, use your keyboard shortcuts or type the corresponding word in the chat box! You can use the F1 to F8 keys. For more avatar commands, type /help in the public chat.

Experiment, adjust, repeat

Test your tech Your audience is likely surrounded by a lot of distractions as they attend your virtual presentation: don’t let the technology side of your presentation be your downfall. Set yourself up for success well ahead of time and test your technology! A dry run is essential so that you’re comfortable with the platform features. Make sure you have the proper equipment and practice with the same technical set up (computer, headset and internet connection) that you will use when you deliver the presentation.

It's all about content and connection

Variety is key to engagement, feel free to use different means to entertain your audience: - a short video or audio clip ? Use Youtube & make sure to test the audio and video quality beforehand! - encourage questions from the beginning and use public chat to engage with your audience. Have someone monitor it to ensure you are not missing any important comments! - be active : move your avatar using the emotes Make sure your slides are attractive Your slides are not your presentation, but they are still essential to your presentation. To keep your presentation clear, concise and visually appealing, try to simplify the data shared, use compelling images and avoid overloading the text.

Anticipation is key : prep a plan B

Send your slides and backup video in advance Even tested, technology can fail... your participation being online it would be safer to record a backup video of your presentation. Although the chances are very small, it would allow your event host to broadcast your presentation in the case of an unfortunate turn of events due to a technical issue. In the same vein, send your slides to your co-host or event moderators in advance to ensure there will be no issue uploading it.

Specific terminology

Spatialized voice Volume of avatar's voices decreases as the distance increases. Flat voice Volume of avatar's voices is the same whatever the distance. Private volume Areas delimited by blue circles or dotted lines that indicate private talk and text zones.
