THE 21ST CENTURY TEACHER HAS MANY DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS FROM THE TRADITIONAL TEACHER.
We must develop our young people studying in secondary schools and colleges in such a way that all their activities are geared towards the progress of the country. Dr. Karan Singh.
Teachers must think globally:
Teachers must educate a new generation of students who think and act globally. Therefore, teachers must include examples and stories from around the world, as well as familiar realities and everyday experiences.
*Teachers must develop sensitivity to cultural differences and diversity:
Many students travel to remote locations from all cultural backgrounds to work there. Their ability to deal with cultural differences gives them an advantage in competitive professions in the future.
*Teachers need to be technology literate:
All teachers must raise their standards as technology changes. I would like to quote a.p.j. abdul kalam: "perfection is a continuous process, not an accident".
*In addition to other qualities, a teacher should also have the following qualities:
1. Teacher training should be learner-centred.
2. Teachers should use new computer equipment while teaching.
3. Teachers should support active learning in the classroom.
4. Teachers should create a learning environment.
5. Students should be assessed on their work. This means that teachers should make an assessment based on the results.
6. Teachers must support cooperative learning.
Technology has revolutionised all sectors of society. Teachers are in transition due to rapidly changing technology and the changing values of students. Teachers must be prepared to use these technologies, but manage them systematically and analytically. To achieve the goal, technologies must be integrated. Improve the quality of pedagogy.
