River Runner
Social Studies
Test everyone's birth city and write the number down for later.
Outside Adventures
Social Studies
Take the class outside to local bodies of water and explore. This could be done virtually as well.
Creating and Interpretting a Bar Graph
Math
Simplify the Rive Runner numbers and create a class bar graph.
Sandbox Activity
Movement
Have the class line up alongside the edge of the space being used. As their environment changes, so will the flow of water. At some point, close off the path to stop the running water.
Pocket Water Cycle
Science
Students will create a small water cycle that they can observe over the course of 2 weeks.
Materials:Sandwich sized ziplocks Water Sharpie Blue food coloring Duct tapeInstructions: Draw the water cycle Fill the bag ⅓ cups of water Add two drops of blue food coloring and mix. Get as much air out at possible and close tightly Tape the bag onto a sunny window. Sit back and watch the water cycle work over the course of a couple days
When water fall back down to Earth, how much is available to use?
