PAULA
" I do not feel a connection with nature,"
Transcendentalists believed that nature was the best place to understand truth due to its inherent purity and wisdom.
Transcendentalism was a religious, philosophical and literary movement that began in New England between 1836 and 1860.
The transcendentalists believed that because of its connection to God, the natural world was an infinitely superior source of knowledge .
Thoreau portrayed the idea that wilderness was more of an attitude than an attribute
“WALKING” (1850) represents a tribute to live and survive in the wilderness of nature.
