Gender-neutral terms
Equality or sexism
Replacing words like “women” and “mothers” with terms like “birth-givers” and “pregnant people” in research risks dehumanising women and would harm decades of work to improve the visibility of women in medical literature.
Using gender-neutral language does not necessarily encourage equality. It can even reinforce or highlight sexism.
inclusive language is not only for gender inclusion
Inclusive language for disability, physical and mental health

FEAR OF GETTING IT WRONG?
Firstly, don't be afraid to ask people what pronoun they prefer. However, mistakes can happen. If this does happen, it is best to apologize, say what pronoun you meant to use, and move on without dwelling on the mistake.
Activity
Write a short article about an activity, rule or event your company does and use inclusive language to do so.
How to Make Your Organization’s Language More Inclusive
Create a list of words that are forbidden in product development.
Review job postings to ensure language neutrality.
Create a guide to inclusive language.
Leverage the messenger effect.
Choose ambassadors who are highly visible in the company to support your inclusive language initiatives. Having a visible person take an action makes others much more likely to follow suit.
Maintain a list of barred words for the product development cycle, including terms like “the elderly,”“crazy,”etc, that reinforce unhelpful stereotypes.
Adapting to the use of inclusive language offers us a chance to grow and become better communicators. It also helps leaders and employees become better allies.
Job postings often contain non-neutral language that attracts certain types of applicants and repels others.
