Original Work
Shark Endangerment
Shark FInning
The poaching of sharks for their fins has proven to be the number one cause of shark endangerment. Specifically 100 million annually
American Oceans.org
Scalloped Hammerhead
Whale Shark
Shark FIn SOup
- Popular in East Asia
- Status Symbol
- Use of cartilage fins ONLY
Ending USA Involvement
It may be impossible to control other countries, but we can control our own
Reasons this affects Us
Sharks are considered the apex predators of many marine ecosystems. If they die, food chains are thrown off balance leading to.
- Loss of biodiversity
- Overpopulation of fish species
- Loss of marine plants
- Eventual possible seafood shortage

Fracking in Texas
Sarah C Reynolds
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (2021) Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Thermal/Fluid Systems (in progress) from The University of Texas at Austin
Hydraulic Fracturing
Texas is one of the biggest producers of natural gas and oil. This has resulted in an economy heavily reliant on the Oil and Gas industry and a suffering environment
Reasons this affects Us
1.5 - 9.7 million gallons of freshwater used to frack a single well
- Water shortage
- Water source pollution
- Earthquakes
- Overall pollution due to fossil fuels
The Solution is Water Disposal Management
Reinjection, storage, and overflow of frack fluid (wastewater) is the main catalyst for many of these issues. We must impose regulations.
