Dualism
Philosophy
Dualism derives from the Latin word duo, meaning two. The term has a variety of uses in the history of thought. In general, the idea is that, for some particular domain, there are two fundamental kinds or categories of things or principles. Sometimes is used also for things that cannot be explained except by supposing ultimately the existence of two different, often opposite, and irreducible principles.
