01. The History of the Great Wall

The Great Wall of China is a series of fortifications that stretches over 13,000 miles across northern China. The wall was built over a period of 2,000 years, beginning in the 7th century BC and ending in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD).

-The Great Wall of China is about 21,000km (~21,196.18km) long. Total length about 56,000km long.-Using blocks of granite.-Consisting of a 6,259km long wall, 359 km long moat, 2,232km long natural barriers.

Many of these workers were conscripted peasants who were forced to work on the wall for years at a time.

The Legacy

-Become a major tourist attraction. -Considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

-The symbol of the cultural heritage and national identity of the Chinese people. -Having inspired countless works of art, literature, and film, and has become an enduring icon of Chinese civilization.

03, The Great Wall Today

Much of the Great Wall has fallen into disrepair, and many sections have been destroyed by natural erosion or human activity.

Some sections of the city walls are subject to severe weather.

The Great Wall was destroyed for unknown reasons.

However, efforts are underway to preserve and restore the wall for future generations to appreciate.
