What are the SDGs?

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development sets out global sustainable development priorities and aspirations for 2030 and seeks to mobilise global efforts around a set of common goals and targets. There are 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that represent an urgent call to action from all countries - developed and developing - for a global partnership.

What are the SDGs for?

In this sense, the SDGs aim to build a more just, egalitarian and sustainable world by 2030. Through its goals and targets, it aims to contribute to the environmental, economic and social sustainability of all nations.

Take urgent measures to fight climate changes and their impact. Strengthen the resillience and ability to adapt to natural risks and disasters related to climate. Integrate climate change measures and solutions in the national planning and strategies. Improve education about the mitigation of climate changes, reduction of their impact and early alert.

Measures

  • Encourage politicians, companies, people in general to dedicate themselves to reducing CO2 pollution;
  • Promote reforestation;
  • Reduce the environmental impacts of agriculture (agriculture, livestock...);
  • Create more volunteer groups with specialized training, so that they are available whenever and wherever necessary;
  • Whenever possible, opt for organic food;
  • Avoid the use of plastic ;
  • Creation of fundraising campaigns for climate action;
  • Improving the educational environment, with the aim of a more cultured and wise society with regard to climate change.

Measures

  • Use public transport, bicycle or on foot (short distances);
  • Reduce waste consumed and recycle;
  • Creation of campaigns, awareness actions... to inform people about the risks they face;
  • Save electric energy consumption (reduce the frequency of showers; do not leave appliances on for a long time...);
  • Planting trees more frequently;
  • Reduce the CO2 footprint and inform family, acquaintances and friends to do the same;

How is our school contributing to sustainable development?

We are an eco school and develop several activities to promote environmental conservation.

In our school, we use this fish to collect plastic bottles, and avoid pollution.

In our school posters are displayed with advice on how to protect the environment.

This is our eco code to promote environmentally-friendly habits.

EcO BIKES

Students are encouraged to use their bikes and this is where they can park them at school.
