Nowadays we go to the CN tower to look at the view or experience the edgewalk but what was its intended purpose? Why did someone want to build a huge building? Well, believe it or not it was intended to solve communication problems with the low rise buildings that were being turned into skyscrapers at the time. I did not know that!!!!

The Niagara Falls were formed by melting glaciers creating fresh lakes. The one Canada owns is solely horseshoe falls but the other 2 are in America, even though we only get ⅓ it is another way we can be connected with other countries.

The Columbia Icefield is the largest ice field in North America. It was formed during the Great Glaciation or Illinoisan period of 238,000 to 126,000 BCE. It is 325 square km large and is called the mother of rivers. Its meltwaters nourish the North Saskatchewan, Columbia, Athabasca, and Fraser River systems. But, unfortunately, it is melting due to global warming. It has been melting for the past 125 yrs and it is estimated that it could disappear by 2030.

Lake Louise is an astonishing destination, it is located in Banff National Park. It was known as Holt City and later known as Laggan until renamed in 1992. A tour guide named Tom Wilson “discovered” the lake in 1882 and called it “Emerald Lake”. It was renamed Lake Louise to honour Princess Caroline, daughter of Queen Victoria. It was added to Banff National Park in 1892.
The lake can rise up to 5,680 feet in spring. It extends 1.5 miles northeast and is located 5 km west of Hamlet of Lake Louise and the Trans Canada Highway.
