WHO IS BLACK PANTHER?
The name of my hero is Black Panther. I choose Black Panther because he is a strong black hero that stands on his own business. He is a leader, provider and role model. I relate to a lot of Black Panther's journey. The Character of Black Panther comes from Marvel Comics and first appeared in Volume #'s 51-52 of the Fantastic Four in July and August, 1966. Black Panther was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby. Black Panther was created because there were no black superheroes, but there was a large amount of black readers. Black Panther evolved and became part of the Avengers and a primary character. The movie Black Panther was released January 29, 2018. It was produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Disney. The film was directed by Ryan Coogler who co-wrote the screen play with Joe Robert Cole.
ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS
The tale of Black Panther as a superhero takes a contemporary story and follows format and structure of the myths of ancient times. The idea of an ordinary transforming through the hero's journey and having super human strengths and powers is present throughout Black Panther's tale. T'Challa is gifted with abnormal powers. His senses are extremely strong along with his strength. These abilities make him confident and brave. The hero archetype in mythology has transformed over time to represent the life, struggles, concerns and fears of present day culture. T'challa comes across and has to face his army of Wakandans on Killmonger side fighting to liberate all African American descents. T’challa ends up stabbing Killmonger with a vibranium spear that eventually leads to Killmonger's death even though Killmonger took the herb. Killmonger says, "Death is better than bondage."From modern stories such as Black Panther, we can infer that we are still looking for a hero to save and protect us in our lives and from our troubles just like the people in ancient times.
In conclusion, with all those facts and info Black Panther is a very importannt person to remember.He is a present day myth.
