Step 1

Using Library Resources

  • Each course has a navigation bar on the left side of the window.
  • Click on the Library Resources tab to access the Library search tool within Canvas

The Park University Library has provided many free resources to supplement and complement your research and studies. Here's how to access the library within Canvas.

**Note: If you are ever prompted to sign-in, use your Park ID and your MyPark password.

Step 2

  • This is the Library page within Canvas.
  • The search function is in the center of the page.

  • Type your keywords in the search bar.
  • Click on the Search button when ready to begin the search.

  • Adjust your search parameters to refine results.
  • Limit your search results to full text.
  • Adjust the publication date to 2020 to 2024 to view the most recently published resources. For this course, resources should be published within the last six months of your assignment.
  • Set source types to "news".

Step 5

  • Click on an article to view publication information.
  • If there isn't a PDF or HTML link to the article, click on the Full Text Finder link.

Click to open any one of the full text options.

  • You will be directed to the affiliated resource.
  • Click on the link to the full-text.

  • You can now view the full text.
  • The source citation is displayed below the full text. Note that this citation defaults to MLA.

  • The Citation Tools button allows you to view alternative formats.
  • Options available include MLA 8th Edition, APA 7th Edition, and Chicago 16th Edition.

Step 10

  • Click on the dropdown list to select APA 7th Edition.
  • You may use the Export funtion to save the citation to a citation manager like Endnote.
  • Click the Select button to copy the citation to your clipboard. You may paste this copied text into a word document.
  • Click on the X in the top right hand corner to return to the full text.
