The Referral and Identification Process

The referral process includes the following steps with suggested dates. Your GT advocate will send out all information regarding the identification and guide you through this process.

October 23- December 1, 2023

  • Standardized Test administered by GT Advocate
  • Parent/Guardian Observation Checklist completed and returned to GT Advocate
  • Teacher Observation Checklist completed and returned to GT Advocate

December 4-December 15, 2023 A committee will review all assessment measures to identify Gifted and Talented & Talent Explore students.

December 20, 2023 Deadline for GT Advocate to send notification letters to parents/guardians.

January 9, 2024 Services will begin for students who are identified as GT or TE.

September 18, -October 6, 2023 Students can be referred for testing by a parent, or anyone at the campus or district level.
