Radiographic Assistant

Main Purpose of the Job

  • To assist in the provision of high quality Radiographic Service whilst complying with all Trust and Department policies and procedures.
  • To undertake a range of radiography related duties to a consistently high standard, professionally and efficiently following department procedures, to assist radiographers, sonographers and radiologists in their duties.

Main Purpose of the Job

Assistant Practitioner

Main Purpose of the Job

  • To assist in the provision of high quality Radiographic Service, whilst complying with all Trust and Department policies and procedures.
  • To carry out a limited range of radiographic examinations to a consistently high standard, professionally and efficiently following department procedures and under the indirect supervision of a qualified radiographer.
  • To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.

  • May be required to work in any radiology department with appropriate notice, including community hospitals.

  • To manage and maintain a high quality Radiographic service at a designated site, whilst complying with Trust and Departmental policies and procedures. As team manager responsible for the operational management of all the sections of Radiology department.

  • To carry out a range of complex and highly complex radiographic examinations to a high standard

Advanced Practitioner

Main Purpose of the Job

  • To lead in the development of a specific specialist area of radiographic practice as agreed with the site lead and manager.
  • Assist in the education and development of radiographers, sonographers, assistant practitioners, radiography students and when required registrars, especially in the area of pattern recognition.
  • Provide supervision of radiographers, sonographers, assistant practitioners and radiography students in all radiographic areas and assist in the correct completion of trauma opinion or referral advice.
  • Provide and maintain a high quality, cost effective and efficient radiographic service and ensure the maintenance of high standards of care within NHS trusts ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Deputise for other advanced practitioners, and site lead within the department when required.
  • To advise and be part of the team involved in the commissioning of any new equipment for the general radiography department.

Trust Lead

Main Purpose of the Job

  • To provide clinical leadership and take responsibility for providing a professional Radiology service across the trust. Working at designated sites to ensure consistency of service and compliance with Trust and Departmental policies and procedures and providing a clinical service for 2 days per week.
  • As the Trust Lead Radiographer be responsible for implementing strategic plans to improve services.
  • To ensure that the Radiographic service actively contributes to the challenges of targets and directives.
  • To carry out a range of complex and highly complex radiographic examinations to a high standard.
