The eTwinning project, "MELODIES: Multinational Exploration of Language, Our Dreams, and International Experiences in Music" is an inspiring journey that helped our pupils explore the deep connection between music, culture, and storytelling. They reflected upon themes such as friendship, social issues, dreams, and nature as expressed through the music produced in each partner country and crafted a music e-magazine showcasing the original lyrics, their English version, details about the artists and the songs, an interactive multilingual dictionary with words from each song, and videos of pupils singing the partners’ songs in the original language. Furthermore, working in transnational teams, they produced a multimedia anthology of stories inspired by the analyzed songs.Curious to see how our eTwinners achieved these remarkable results? Dive into our storytelling book and discover the journey for yourself.

NAVIGATING THE TWINSPACE

WITH SUCCESS

GETTING TO KNOW EACH OTHER

We wrote a short message about ourselves. We included our name, age, hobbies and at least a special fun fact about us such as:

  • Something special, different or surprising
  • Something unusual we can do.
  • Something that might make others say, "Wow!"
  • Something positive and cheerful that makes people smile.

OUR LOGOS

Our eTwinners are very creative! They created 71 logos!

Each partner school selected 6 of their best logos and uploaded them to the Google form. Then we all voted for the best logo.

Privacy and Data Protection

All partners read three scenarios about pricavy and data protection uploaded on a Padlet, wrote posts about the potential risks and the immediate and long-term consequences.

Pupils improved their knowledge about privacy and data protection by reviewing the information shared by teachers in a common Canva presentation.

COPYRIGHT

They played an e-game to test how much they had learnt about Copyright issues

Pupils learned about Copyright by reviewing the information shared by teachers in a common Canva presentation.

CYBERBULLYING

They played an e-game to test how much they had learnt about cyberbullying issues

Pupils learned about Cyberbullying by reviewing the information shared by teachers in a common Canva presentation.

FOSTERING NETIQUETTE ANDETHICAL USAGE OF A.I.

Pupils played an e-game to test how much they know about A.I.

They watched a you tube video to learn more about A.I

All partners collaborated to create an infographic about Netiquette and ethical usage of A.I.

Collaborative eSafety Workshop Outcomes

Each partner school created an interesting work about eSafety topics:

  • Privacy and Data Protection,
  • Copyright
  • Cyberbullying Prevention,
  • Netiquette and Ethical A.I. use
and shared it in a workshop with schoolmates

Let's start our Musical Journey

Let's start our Musical Journey

Each partner school selected 4 songs produced in their country:

  • 1 song about friendship, love, or family relationships
  • 1 song about social issues
  • 1 song about dreams and aspirations
  • 1 song about beauty of nature

SONG SELECTION

The two partner schools from Greece proposed their songs and then used Poll Maker to vote for the final songs to add to our e-magazine.

LET'S TRANSLATE OUR SONGS INTO ENGLISH AND CRAFT ACTIVITIES

Each partner country had a page on Twinspace and used a Digipad to upload their 4 lyrics, their English version and activities that could help partners understand the meaning of their lyrics.

As for the Greek schools, Larissa chose to craft activities and Thebes to translate the lyrics into English

We used the lyrics, their English versions and the activities about the lyrics created by each partner school to craft our Music emagazine organized into 5 sections: 1 Relationships 2 Dreams and aspirations 3 Social Problems 4 Beauty of Nature 5 final section collecting the videos of partners while singing

Each partner school chose a section and shared:

  • the original lyrics, their English version, QR codes to watch the videos
  • background information about each song and its significance
  • the activities related to the songs that were crafted by each partner school
  • an Audible Multilingual Glossary of Songs
OR
  • sayings and proverbs from each country related to the main theme of the section.

Each partner school worked on a section:

From Music to Storytelling

All partners checked the presentation to learn about the characteristics of a short story

LET'S SELECT THE TOPIC FOR OUR SHORT STORIES

Pupils used a Twinpoll to select the topic of the stories. The most voted topic was RELATIONSHIPS

Pupils were organized into 4 transnational teams. We used a spinning wheel to match the 4 songs of Relationships to the 4 Transnational Teams

During the online meeting, each team:a) Discussed their chosen song.b) Selected a group to join from the following options:

  • The storyteller group
  • The artistic group
  • The digital group
c) Participated in activities on separate Padlet boards assigned to each group. The writers shared their ideas about the characters and setting of their story on a shared Padlet, while the artists used the AI function "I can't draw" to create images inspired by their song on their dedicated Padlet.

key ingredients of our project

Effective communication is the key to working together as a team. We held a meeting with families to inform them about the project plan and, about Privacy, Data protection and Copyright. Families signed the Privacy consent forms.

Communication was necessary in order to know the progress of the project, to plan future activities, to give information about the roles for a particular task. The starting point was the sharing of the draft of the Project plan with all the partners by a common google doc. Everyone could make suggestions

Throughout the project the original plan was modified in some parts because we took into consideration the feedback of our pupils, the results of our chats, the mid survey, So, the keywords were MONITORING - FLEXIBILITY- COOPERATION

COMMUNICATION

Communication was frequent. We used many channels!

messenger group was created and used for faster information

online meetings were used to discuss about the project plan, activities, and distribution of the tasks

emails were used to sum up what we had said during the videoconferences and to give more detailed information

Shared google docs with information about the tasks and external links to help pupils complete their work when the ESEP platform was under maintenance or didn't work properly

online meetings with pupils were used to know each other, to share opinions, to discuss, to make decisions

Monitoring had an important role because it allowed us to make adjustments in our teaching methods and strategies but also in the planning of future activities. Moreover it gave us the chance to provide feedback to pupils.A component of monitoring was the systematic observation of pupils at work and play, how they interacted with teachers and with peers,, their involvement in the project activities.

We also considered the results of the mid survey

MONITORING

And for the project final evaluation we considered continuity of participation, completion of products, and the final surveys for pupils, teachers.

  • Do I listen to my pupils' opinions ?
  • How much are they involved in this type of activity?
  • Are my pupils having difficulties
  • to do this task?
  • Are pupils interacting with their peers?
  • Are they collaborating with their team?
  • Is each of them contributing to the final product?
  • Are they respecting deadline?

Dissemination is about making the main results/outputs of a project visible to key actors, especially end users, relevant target audience and decision makers. The dissemination of the project to different target groups is contributing to give a high visibility to the institutions/organizations that carried out the project, to inspire other institutions/organizations and to promote new school cooperations for future projects.

Thank you very much eTwinning! See you again next year!
