Daniel Ellsberg, born April 7, 1931, is an American former analyst he received his PhD in economics from Harvard
ellberg became famous to the general public in June 1971 when he provided the New York Times and then the Washington Post with excerpts from a secret government report on the Vietnam War known as the Pentagon Papers.
Daniel Ellsberg was awarded the Alternative Nobel Prize in 2006, "for putting peace and truth first, at considerable personal risk, and dedicating his life to inspiring others to follow his example".
