Iveland Elementary
The current Ritenour Middle School property was the original Ritenour High School building.In the late 1940′s, this building became Ritenour Junior High School. In 1981 it became Ritenour Middle School. Click on the image to visit the school's website. (Ritenour School District Homepage, 2023)
Buder opened in 1939. Buder School was named after Hugo F. Buder, who was a member of Ritenour’s Board of Education from 1932 to 1939. Hoech Middle School opened mid-year in January 1955. Hoech is named after Arthur A. Hoech, who served as a superintendent of the Ritenour School District from 1920-56. Click on the image to visit the school's website. (Ritenour School District Homepage, 2023)
A February 1928 bond issue provided funds for the purchase of a four-acre plot for $8,000 on which a school was to be built to serve the Iveland sub-division area. Two additional lots were added to the site in 1935 and 1950 for the sum of $11, completing the present 4.8-acre site. A permanent one-story, four-room building was built in 1936. Kratz Elementary is named for Charles C. Kratz, who was a member of the Board of Education from 1934 to 1950. The school opened in 1954. Click the image to visit the school's website. (Kratz Elementary School, 2012)
Ritenour School for Early Childhood Education (RSECE) is nationally accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.The RSECE is a "green school," which means the school was built to be ecological. Wyland Elementary school opened in September 1958. Edward L. Wyland, who served on the Ritenour Board of Education for 41 years, from 1931 to 1972 names this school. Click on the image to visit the school's website. (Bell, J, 2021)
Husky Academy serves at-risk students who have struggled in the traditional school setting, and need additional support to graduate on time. The goal of Husky Academy is to increase graduation rates, increase attendance levels and improve the academic performance of non-traditional learners. (Ritenour Schools, 2017)

The first graduating class from Ritenour High School took place on May 17, 1918. Ritenour High School was located at the site of the current Ritenour Middle School until 1950. The Class of 1951 was the first to graduate from the current Ritenour High School building. Currently, the high school serves over 1800 students. Click here to visit the school's website. The International Welcome Center serves Ritenour students from middle and high schools, who need support learning English. The IWC also introduces U.S. culture and the U.S. school system. "Ritenour's Gifted Education program is available for academically talented students at the elementary and middle school levels. It is intended to further challenge, motivate and stimulate students in selected core academic areas. Students receive Gifted instruction in addition to regular classroom lessons. What is the Ritenour Center for Gifted Education?Ritenour has a dedicated full-day center program to offer gifted students more time with their peers and teachers. In the full-day center structure, all elementary students in the gifted program attend classes one day a week at the Ritenour Center for Gifted Education, located at Ritenour Middle School" (Gandolfo).
