Deliverables. Mou included tasks
2.1) Inventory of drugs suitable for repurposing as NRF2-based therapeutics.2.2) Inventory of new patented or patentable compounds that activate or inhibit NRF2 and influence the course of various NCDs in cellular and animal models of disease, including electrophiles, PPI inhibitors and NRF2 inhibitors developed by the Action participants.2.3) Coordinate a virtual repository of superior animal models for various NCDs with pathophysiological processes related to NRF2 deregulation, in reciprocal interaction with “Preclinical Trials. EU” organization.2.4) Critical analysis of preclinical results on the above mentioned NRF2-modulators in superior animal models.
This WG will coordinate all aspects along the pipeline of drug development, including preclinical studies.
D2.1. Inventory of new and repurposed NRF2-targeting drugs.
To create an inventory of repurposed/new NRF2-targeting drugs, which will be included in a future publication and will be listed on the BenBedPhar webpage. Notably, we have done a lot of work summarized the information of NRF2 activators and inhibitors and converting them into a more user-friendly tool to be inserted in the COST action web page, employing Access software (Microsoft 365). This task has been especially driven by Srdjan Bjedov, Albena Dinkova-Kostova and Ana I Rojo.
D2.2. REGISTRY OF SUPERIOR NRF2-RELATED ORGANISM MODELS OF NCDs
We are preparing a comprehensive review manuscript summarizing all animal models of noncommunicable diseases where NRF2 is relevant thanks to the active participation of 23 members of the WG2. This review is authorized by (alphabetic order) Buttari, Cadenas, Carlos, Cuadrado, Dinkova-Kostova, Falcão, G López, Konu, Lastres-Becker, Maksimova, Michaeloudes, Mihaylova, Milisav, Miova, Rojo, Santos, Seabra, Svob, Sykiotis, Trougakos, Tenreiro, Rada and Mike. In this task aim to will include extensive inventory of superior animal models.

Review organization
We organized the WG members who were able to participate in contributing to the virtual repository of superior animal models for various NCDs with pathophysiological processes related to NRF2 deregulation
Redox webinar series
NRF2 and neuroinflammation
Many members of WG2, including PhD students and other early career researchers, attended the ‘Redox webinar series. Oxidative Stress: Biochemical and Pharmacological aspects’. Ana I Rojo and Isabel Lastres-Becker were two of the three invited speakers in the “NRF2 and neuroinflammation" webminar. Introduced by Brigitta Buttari and Antonio Cuadrado.

Intranet BenBedPhar
We changed the information related to WG2 from Slack Platform to BenBedPhar intranet.
Information about the structure and content of BenBedPhar, and, most importantly, an overview of the goals and tasks of WG2, as well as deliverables and deadlines.

OpenDay 2023
Some of the WG2 members participated as invited speakers in the BenBedPhar Open Day on 7th September (Laureano de la Vega, Gina Manda, Antonio Cuadrado, Andreas Daiber and Sandra Tenreiro). This event was organized by Ana Rita Carlos and Isabel Lastres-Becker. The hybrid nature of this event allowed the attendance of many WG2 members, including PhD students, from multiple institutions across Europe.
