William Henry Gates III, better known as Bill Gates, was born on October 28, 1955 in Seattle, Washington, USA. He is one of the world's foremost entrepreneurs and philanthropists, known for co-founding Microsoft and for his philanthropic work through of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Childhood

Bill Gates was born into a rich family . His father was a lawyer and his mother was on the board of directors of various charities. From an early age, Gates showed a great interest in technology and programming, going so far as to program his first computer at the age of 13.

Gates attended the prestigious Lakeside School in Seattle, where he met his future business partner, Paul Allen. Gates became interested in programming and computer science while studying at Lakeside. After graduating from high school, Gates attended Harvard University, but dropped out in his second year student to focus on his career in technology.

Adulthood: In 1975, Gates founded Microsoft with his business partner, Paul Allen.
