- Tried figuring out the Nazi cipher machine Enigma
- Was misunderstood, somewhat of an outcast
- Was a homosexual and liked a boy called Christopher as a kid
- Made a machine which he called Christopher and which "cracked" Enigma
- Suffered chemical castration
- Committed suicide on the 7th of June, 1954
- Received a posthumous pardon from Queen Elizabeth in 2013
