What is malaria?
Malaria is a a serious disease caused by a parasite that commonly infects a certain type of mosquito which feeds on humans.
If it isn’t treated, malaria can cause severe health problems such as seizures, brain damage...
CAUSES
Generally, the Anopheles mosquito is the principal disease carrier of Plasmodium parasites. By its bite, all parasites are transferred to the bloodstream of a person.
In rare cases, pregnant women can transfer the disease to their children during the birth. Malaria can be passed through blood transfusions and organ donations, too.
