Should I Retake the SAT?
Understand your score
SAT Prep on Khan Academy I suggest you start practicing now and sign up for an SAT in the Spring of your 11th grade year. You can set a practice schedule for yourself based on your exam date. Khan Academy partnered with CollegeBoard to provide the best practice. Here is the link, https://www.khanacademy.org/SAT.
- If you have taken the PSAT/SAT before, sign-up for Khan with the same email you used then. This will link your scores and automatically generate PERSONALIZED PREP based on your strengths and weaknesses on the test.
- If you have NOT taken the PSAT/SAT before, sign-up for Khan with a personal email that you will give to CollegeBoard when you take the SAT, not your school one so you always have access in case you leave CCA.
- Once signed up, take the practice SAT exam through Khan. This will generate PERSONALIZED PREP based on your strengths and weaknesses on the test.
How Do I Use the TI-84 Plus? As a math teacher, I find most students struggle with the timing of the test. You can see a breakdown of the time below. One thing that can help alleviate the time stress in the Math Calculator section is having a very good understanding of how your calculator works and the quickest ways to use it. The TI-84Plus is a valuable tool to make testing easier! I am linking a document of “cheat sheets” of how to use the calculator for various concepts. This may look overwhelming but as you work through the Khan practice dedicate time to finding ways to use your calculator in efficient ways and then once you have mastered that, focus on finishing questions in the time allotted.
