Introduction
Eric Cantona is a French former professional footballer who was often regarded as one of the greatest players of his generation.He mainly played as a ST/CF in different clubs and he ended his career at Man Utd. Currently he's a is an actor, director, producer.
His full name is Eric Daniel Pierre Cantona and was born is Marseille ,France, on the 24 of May 1966. He is currently 56 years old.

Childhood and family
His mum Éléonore Raurich was a spanish dressmaker who came from Barcelona, and his dad Albert Cantona was a nurse and painter. His paternal grandfather was Italian and had emigrated to Marseille from Sardinia, while his maternal grandfather Pere Raurich retreated to France for medical treatment after suffering serious injuries fighting in the Spanish Civil War. He has 2 brothers:Joel,Jean-Marie.He's the middle child. His family was relatevly poor but he had a happy childhood.He played a lot of street football.
Early Life/Career
Eric Cantona started playing football at the age of 15; he was a goalkeeper in a local club called So Caillolais. Then he was dicovered by Auxerre (his first professional club) where he spent 2 years in the youth team before making his debut on the 5 of November 1993.
Established Career
Eric Cantona moved to different clubs throughout his football career. Cantona scored a total of 64 league goals for Manchester United, 13 in domestic cup competitions, and 5 in the Champions League, bringing his tally to 82 goals in less than five years. He retired from football in 1997 at the young age of 30.

- He was nicknamed King Eric by the Manchester United fans.
- In 1994-95 season, in an away match against Crystal Palace, Cantona was sent off for kicking Palace defender Richard Shaw because he had been marking him closely. As he was walking towards the tunnel, Cantona launched a 'kung-fu' style kick into the crowd, directed at Palace supporter Matthew Simmons, who had run down 11 rows of stairs to confront and shout abuse at Cantona.

Eric Cantona is well known in the world of football and has inspired many of his Manchester United fans as he has helped the team get four Premier League titles which they had not been able to do before in 25 years. Zlatan Ibrahimovic followed Cantona's steps to become one of the best in Man Utd. However, Cantona said: "You cannot be the king of Manchester, you will have to be content with being the prince'. Ibrahimovic was not interested in becoming king, ' I want to be the god of Manchester'.
Personal Life
Eric Cantona got married twice with: 1. Isabelle Ferrer (1987-2003) during which time they had 2 children. 2.Current wife Rachida Brakni in 2007. They also have two children together.
What is he doing now?
At the age of 30 he pursued a career in cinema and had roles in films such as Elizabeth (1998), French Film (2008), Looking For Eric (2009). In 2010, he debuted as a stage actor in Face au Paradis, a play directed by his wife Rachida. The latest roles has been in drama series called Inhuman Resources where he plays Alain Delambre and in a documentary 'Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In' (2021)
