Psychologist, researcher and professor of Cognition and Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education
Author of 30 books, he's been awarderd in many occasions. In 2011, he received the Prince of Asturias Award for Social Sciences
GARDNER'S THEORY
Four decades ago, Howard Gardner challenged traditional views of intelligence by formulating the Theory of Multiple Intelligences, for which he is recognised worldwide.

once we realize that, then, education which treats everybody the same way is actually the most unfair education
GARDNER'S THEORY
Gardner believes that all human beings possess similar skills, abilities and ways of using information to solve problems, and each area of the brain is responsible for solving these problems; Gardner calls each of these abilities "Intelligences"
He identifies up to 8 areas in which an individual can be intelligent

INTELLIGENCE
is not a unitary set of different specific abilities that can be measured by an IQ test, but a network of autonomous sets that are related to each other.
His theory suggests that there is no strategy that works for all the students. The more versatile the ICTs are and the more skilled the teacher is at detecting the student's "passions" and how he or she likes to learn, the more resources are made available to guide the student towards the best possible education, and therefore, the better the results will be.
VISUAL-SPATIAL INTELLIGENCE
Think in terms of physical space, as do architects and sailors. Very aware of their environments. They like to draw, do jigsaw puzzles, read maps, and daydream. They can be taught through drawings, verbal and physical imagery. Tools include models, graphics, charts, photographs, drawings, 3 D modeling, video, videoconferencing, television, multimedia, texts with pictures/charts/graphs.
BODILY-KINESTHETIC INTELLIGENCE
They use the body effectively, like a dancer or a surgeon. Keen sense of body awareness. They like movement, making things, touching. They communicate well through body language and be taught through physical activity, hands on learning, acting out, role playing. Tools include equipment and real objects.
MUSICAL INTELLIGENCE
They show sensitivity to rhythm and sound. They love music, but they are also sensitive to sounds in their environments. They may study better with music in the background. They can be taught by turning lessons into lyrics, speaking rhythmically, and tapping out time. Tools include musical instruments, music, radio, stereo, multimedia.
INTERPERSONAL INTELLIGENCE
These students learn through interaction. They have many friends, empathy for others, street smarts. They can be taught through group activities, seminars, and dialogues. Tools include time and attention from the instructor, collaborative online projects, online communities, e-mail..
INTRAPERSONAL INTELLIGENCE
Understanding one's own interests and goals. These learners tend to shy away from others. They're in tune with their inner feelings; they have wisdom, intuition and motivation, as well as a strong will and confidence and opinions. They can be taught through independent study and introspection. Tools include books, creative materials, diaries, privacy and time. They are the most independent of the learners.
LINGUISTIC INTELLIGENCE
Using words effectively. These learners have highly developed auditory skills and often think in words. They like reading, playing word games, making up poetry or stories. They can be taught by encouraging them to say and see words, read books together. Tools include computers, games, multimedia, books, tape recorders, and lecture.
LOGICAL - MATHEMATICAL INTELLIGENCE
They have a mathematical reasoning, think conceptually, abstractly and are able to see and explore patterns and relationships. They like to experiment, solve puzzles, and ask cosmic questions. They can be taught through logic games, investigations, and mysteries. They need to learn and form concepts before they can deal with details.
NATURALIST INTELLIGENCE
The ability to discriminate among living things as well a sensitivity to other features of the natural world. It evokes our past as hunters, gatherers, and farmers; it continues to be central in roles as botanist or chef. If the naturalist intelligence is one of your strengths you have a profound love for the outdoors, animals, plants, and almost any natural object.
