What is the circular movement?

Is a movement of an object along the circumference ofa circle or rotation along a circular path. It can be uniform, with constant angular rate of rotation and constant speed, or non-uniform with a changing rate of rotation.

Examples of circular motion

An artificial satellite orbiting the Earth at a constant height

A car turning through a curve in a race track

A ceiling fan's blades rotating around a hub

An electron moving perpendicular to auniform magnetic field.

A stone which is tied to a rope and is being swung in circles

FEATURES OF CIRCULAR MOVEMENT

* Velocity changes but speed still constant.* Centripetal acceleration is required. *Centripetal acceleration is always directed toward the centre of circle. * Centripetal acceleration remain perpendicular to velocity.

What is centripetal acceleration?

Is defined as the property of the motion of an object traversing a circular path. Any object that is moving in a circle and has an acceleration vector pointed towards the centre of that circle is known as Centripetal acceleration. Centripetal means towards the centre.

Centripetal acceleration formule:

Has a magnitude equal to the square of the body's speed v along the curve divided by the distance r from the centre of the circle to the moving body.

a. =v-r

Frecuency and period

If we know the radius and velocity of the object, we can use that to find the radial (centripetal) acceleration by squaring the velocity and dividing it by the radius. But how exactly do we find the magnitude of velocity? We need to first discuss two other measurements, known as frequency and period. The frequency is defined as the number of revolutions the object makes every second while the period is defined as the time it takes the object to make one full revolution.

FRECUENCY

Frecuency= number of revolutions completed in 1 second

PERIOD

Period: time taken to complete 1 revolutionT = 27г/v

Linear speed and angular speed formules

Linear speed

Angular speed:

Linear speed and angular speed

Angular speed gives the rate at which the central angle swept out by the object changes as the object moves around the circle, and it is thus measured in radians per unit time. Linear Speed is when an object travels in a circular motion its linear speed is the speed tangent to the circle of motion at any given point.

INIFORM CIRCULAR MOTION

Centripetal acceleration (1):A Penny rest 45 cm from the center of a spinning disk. If the penny mover at a constant speed of 2.5 m/s, What is the centripetal acceleration acting on the penny? Ac=V²/R R=2.5 m/s 45cm/1×1m/100cm=0.45=R=0.45m Ac=(2.5m/s)²/0.45 m= 13.9 m/s²

What is the magnitud of the centripetal acceleration of a car following a curve of radius 500m at a speed of 25.0m/s. Compare the acceleration with that due to gravity for this fairly gentle curve taken at highway speed.Ac=(25m/s)²/500m= 1.25 m/s²

A CD-ROM drive spins the disc at 1600 rpm. Find the Period and frecuency.F=1600 rev/min=1600 rev/60 sec=26.7 rev/sec= F=26.7Hz T= 1/F= 1/26.7 = R=0.0375(s)

A mass of 10Kg is traveling in a circle of 5m. If it is under a centripetal force of 50N, what is the mass period?Fc=ma(centripetal)= m×v²/r V=(raíz cuadrada)(50N)(5m)/10Kg= 5m/s P=2(pi)r/V= 2(pi)(5m)/5m/s= 2(pi)(s)
