this week: capitalization review
Let's review the capitalization rules! 1. Always capitalize the first word of a sentence. 2. Capitalize people's names. 3. Speaking of names, the names of cities, countries, companies, religions, and political parties are also proper nouns, so you should capitalize them, too. 4. Capitalize names like mom, dad, and grandpa when they are used as a form of address. Example: I went with Mom to the concert last night. 5. Capitalize the first word of a quote when the quote is a complete sentence. 6. Capitalize days of the week, months of the year, and holidays. However, don't capitalize seasons. 7. Capitalize most words in titles. 8. Capitalize nationalities and languages. 9. Capitalize time periods and historical events.
