Hercule Poirot
Hercule Poirot is a Belgian private detective created by Agatha Christie. The character was based on two other fictional detectives of the time: Hercule Popeau by Marie Belloc Lowndes and Monsieur Poiret by Frank Howel Evans. Hercule Poirot's first appearance was in The Mysterious Case of Styles, published in 1920, and his last appearance was in Curtain, published in 1975.
