Who were the gods of Egypt?
In Egypt were a lot of gods who looked after his empire.All the egyptian gods have one speciality, they are immortality.Many of them are old emperors or kings when they live because they believe they revived on inmortal god.
RA, GOD OF THE SUN
Ra is the god of the sun and origin of life.Is the responsible for death.He has the power of change the form and has what she want.His symbols are the horus,ra’s eye, the eye or 88.His sons are shu, geb, tefnet and nut.
A falcon with a sun disc in his head represents him. Isis like kills Ra with a serpent to take out Ra to the throne and her husband Osiris was the king .
The god Anubis
The main function of Anubis was to guide the spirit of the dead to the other world, he is represented with the body and head of a jackal, an animal that was related to the cemeteries, Anubi was replaced by Osiris, so he became the person in charge of guiding the souls to him, he also decided if a person was really good for the eternal life. After the first dynasty, Anubis was usually depicted as a man with the head of a black jackal.
In the tomb of Ramesses, he is shown as a complete human, without his jackal's head. He was sometimes shown wearing an Ankh and holding the Nekhakha scourge, and was also usually seen with an Imiut, a magical instrument for the priests of Egypt. Anubis was said to be very dark, but he was said to give souls a second chance.
The god osiris
Osiris is the most important god in the Egyptian pantheon. The god of resurrection, the regeneration of the Nile and fertility is also credited with inventing agriculture and religion. Usually, he is represented mummified, with green or black skin and with the attributes of royalty.
During the Middle Kingdom of Egypt, the city of Abydos became the city of the god Osiris, attracting many faithful in search of eternity. The popularity of this city was based on its New Year parties and the possession of a sacred relic, the head of the god.
The goddess isis
The goddess Isis was one of the most popular goddesses in Ancient Egypt. She was the god of the Moon. She was a powerful magician, wife of Osiris and mother of Horus. She was the patron of nature and magic. Her name in Egyptian it's Ats which means "throne", an element that symbolically represented the mother of the king. The earliest writings in which she is depicted are after the 5th Dynasty. Isis' role as mother captivated not only the Egyptians, she also captivated the Greeks and Romans. Later, Christianity took the image of Isis and turned her into the Virgin Mary. In many pictures the two can be seen holding their children about to breastfeed.
One of her most famous stories shows Isis as a very astute, intelligent and clever goddess. Isis didn't know Ra's real name, so to find out she created the first cobra, which stung Ra. The god fell ill and no one could cure him, except Isis, who promised to cure him in exchange for his real name.
The god hathor
Hathor was the goddess of joy, motherhood, and love. She was considered the protector of pregnant women, childbirth and midwives, as she helped children to come into the world, as goddess of fertility and life. She was the great patroness of all women, who at no time or season of the year failed to reverence her.
As the goddess of music and dance, her symbol was the sistrum, a musical instrument that produced a characteristic sound when shaken.As goddess of fertility and goddess of moisture, Hathor was associated with the flooding of the Nile. In this aspect she was associated with the star Sothis that rising above the horizon announced the annual flooding of the Nile.
