Discord was created by Jason Citron and Stan Vishnevskiy. Both of the creators had a love for video games and cherished the friendships that had formed while playing. It was released on May 13, 2015. Within a few years, Discord had begun to gain a lot of popularity. Now Discord is used for more than gaming. It is used to create a space for people to feel like they belong.

Discord allows you to create server for your friends or communities. You are able to join or create servers for any kind of community. Your server is made up of text channels and voice channels.

Voice channels allows you to talk/hang out over voice and video.Calling and ringing is not required. All you have to do is click on a voice channel to enter it. After entering, your friends will be able to you are on the voice channel and pop in to talk, share their screen, etc.
