A Short HISTORY OF THE WINDRUSH GENERATION

The Notting Hill Carnival is still relevant. This year the carvinal will take place on 27 and 28 August.

The Brixton Riot. From 10 to 12 April riots began in Brixton. This confrontation was opposing Black and policemen. They fought against discrimination.

The arrival of Empire Windrush ship in Tilbury with 492 Caribbeans. They formed the Windrush generation.

The first carnival of Notting Hill. This procession during 5km long in order to protest against discriminations.

Between 1948 and 1971, around 500,000 Caribbeans people migrated to UK. The hardening of immigration regulated the settlement of Caribeans.

The British Nationality Act gave to Caribbeans and all Commonwealth Brtitish the citizenship.

A political scandal breaks out because of Theresa May's hostile policies towards migrants. Some people from the Windrush generation were deported in error.
