What does fasting mean?
To avoid eating and drinking food and drink with a sincere intention to please Allaah during all hours of the day, beginning from Fajr until the sun sets at Maghrib.
Saum or Siyaamٍصوم/ صيام
This means to stop doing something.
ALLAH SAID
“So whoever of you sights (the crescent on the first night of)
the month (of Ramadhaan), he must fast that month.”
(Soorah Al- Baqarah 2:185)
MONTH OF FORGIVENESS
When the month of Ramadhaan begins, the gates of Jannah are
opened, and the gates of Hell Fire are closed for the believers to
perform plenty of good deeds.
INTERCESSION
Fasting intercedes with Allaah on behalf of the
believer on the Day of Judgment.
