Education is divided into 5 curriculum levels; your child will profress at their own pace through the curriculum levels. They're designed to be flexible to permit careful plannin for those who needs adittional support.
SECONDARY EDUCATION
It has two different phases: the broad general education (S1-S3), desgined around planned experiences that build on the skills and knowledge developed during earlier stages of your child's education and the senior phase, that provides scope for more specialised study and gaining qualifications

VOCATIONALTRAINING
Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQ's) are work-based qualifications. They work as a guarantee that someone can do their job well and to the national standards for their sector.
DEGREE
Degrees awarded in Scotland are recognised throughout the UK. They distinguish between Ordinary degrees (3 years of study) and Honours degrees (4 years of study, with specialisation in years 3 and 4). They're classified as:
Third Class
First Class
Upper/Lower Second Class
Many of the undergraduated degrees are named masters.

They provide an education to all the children who pay for it. Between the ages of 3-18. They are also known as independent schools

EXAMS
Known as SQA Exams. The Scottish Government have said that National 5 exams are open to private candidates, but students are under no obligation to do so.
