PULMONARY CIRCULATION
PULMONARY CIRCULATION
Blood is ejected from the left ventricle into the aorta. The aorta, which originates in the left ventricle, has at its base, like the pulmonary trunk, three pocket-shaped valves and widens to form the bulb of the aorta, where the coronary arteries originate.
Blood is ejected from the right ventricle into the pulmonary trunk, an elastic type artery. At its base are located the three semilunar valves of the pulmonary valve. The pulmonary trunk runs to the left of the aorta. At the insertion of the pericardium it joins the aorta by means of the ligamentum arteriosum.

Left Atrium
Right Atrium
HEART POSITION
The heart with the pericardium is located in the middle mediastinum. About 60% of the hearts are located to the left of the medial plane, between the third and sixth ribs (in the case of the cat and the dog they reach the seventh).
