Family

Self-control

Moral Excellence

In the novel, Willoughby Chase was clearly family where the divide between master and servant was thin. Sir Willoughby and Lady Green were kind to their servants and in return, the servants loved the Green family.

Bonnie's character development shows evidence of growth. She did not control her temper very well, but in the end, she learned how to master her emotions.

Moral Excellence was tested by Miss Slighcarp's deeds to take over Willoughby Chase. It was exhibited by Bonnie and Sylvia's actions to expose Miss Slighcarp and rescue the orphans
