The Grammar Translation Method (GTM) is a teaching method commonly used to teach grammar with the main characteristics focusing on translation and memorizing verb forms students learn grammatical rules and then apply those rules by translating sentences between the target language and the native language. At first, this method named Classical Method because of the method was used in teaching Classical languages first, Example Latin and Greek

The use of the Grammar Translation Method (GTM) is effective in introducing language rules to improve their ability to construct accurate sentences so that they have confidence in using English both orally and in writing.
