Some stars may no longer exist, but their light still travels toward Earth. Stars are born, the live. and after some time they die, just like us. After they die, their light continues to travel throughout the universe. By the time a star's light reaches us, it might have been dead for thousands of years. Some stars include the Polaris or the North Star.
Constellations
Astronomers discovered that some stars formed picture in the sky. They called these picture constellations. When some of the brightest stars are connected, they form constellations. The Greeks and Romans created mythological beings named after the constellations. Constellations have helped sailors and they were used as a type of calander in the sky.
