Introduction
Hello, today we are going to introduce you to the beautiful city of Chicago
+ info
First, let's go over some simple facts
Chicago is the 3rd most populated city in the USA right before Los Angeles with over 2,7 million inhabitants as of 2023. Chicago is located on the East side of the Illinois State and although it is considered a landlocked state, it borders Lake Michigan which connects to the Atlantic Ocean so technically it is not landlocked. Chicago has 4 nicknames which are: the Windy City, Chi-town, or the City of Big Shoulders but one nickname has seen an especially interesting evolution over the years, the Second City. It got it's last nickname because in the early 20th century it had a rivalry with New York in hopes of becoming a similarly remarkable metropolitan area.

Here are some information about the city
Chicago has a nice weather meaning most of the time it's not cold outside which means that the beaches are actually usable. Sadly, Chicago doesn't hold many records, atleast not very significant ones, but there is one who stands out, it is the home to the best basketball team worldwide, The Chicago Bulls, the greatest team in NBA history. Chicago has many amazing landmarks but the top 5 are: The Chicago Water Tower, Kinzie Street Railroad Bridge, Navy Pier, Millennium Park (on the photo) and finally The Chicago River.

A bit of history
In the past, Chicago's been home to some Native American tribes like the Ojibwe, Odawa, Potawatomi and other tribes. Chicago's first permanent non-indigenous resident was a trader named Jean Baptiste Point du Sable, a free black man from Haiti whose father was a French sailor and whose mother as an African slave, he went to Chicago in the 1770s via the Mississippi River from New Orleans with his Native American wife. More recent facts about Chicago are that although one of it's nicknames is "The Windy City", it is actually not very windy there. Most of the time, not at all. Another very interesting recent fact is that in 1871, there was a huge fire in Chicago today called "The Great Chicago Fire" which destroyed one third of Chicago leading into an architectual boom that made Chicago become the birthplace of modern architecture.

Conclusion
With it's 186 years of history, Chicago is certainly a town that deserves a visit if you're planning on going to the USA in the future. It has beautiful landmarks, good culture, lots of history and many more things to offer a tourist.
