who are the virtual assistants?
Voice search and smart speakers are technology that allow users to perform an Internet search by verbally asking a question on a smartphone, Smart device or computer instead of using the traditional method of typing the query into a search box. A query is answered by a search engine or a digital assistant.
Functions of the virtual assistant
voice assistants use a combination of artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing (NLP) to understand and respond to user requests. When a user speaks to a voice assistant, the device converts the user's voice to text through a process called Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR). Once the voice assistant has understood the user's request, it uses AI algorithms to determine the appropriate response. This response can be a simple answer to a question, or it can involve the completion of a more complex task.
Voice assistants in the future
voice assistants are going to give a lot to talk about in the years to come. In fact, we have news that augmented reality will complement voice assistants and how this technology will also reach the operating room to improve the operations and work of surgeons.

Advantages
- It eliminates some pain points in the customer
experience: that is, it solves some of the pitfalls that
can be found, resolving common problems or questions
regarding products or services quickly.

expensive than investing in the development of a virtual
assistant.

hiring a human team to perform the same tasks,
generating a virtual assistant implies a significant outlay.
For this reason, it is only profitable for large companies
that have a very high volume of queries.

Alexa is Amazon’s digital assistant. It was first launched in 2014 in the United States with Amazon Echo smart speakers.

Google’s assistant is the voice assistant belonging to the internet giant. It made its first appearance in the market a little later than Alexa, in 2016 by the hand of Google Allo.

One of the main concerns is privacy since the device listens to our voice. Kittlaus notes that the device would only wake up when it hears the word "wake up," such as "Hey Siri," "Hey Google," or "Alexa." In short: the devices would not be recording our conversations
