More on my topic...
For my research, I have chosen to look into how different devices, machines, and general technological research has evolved Type 1 Diabetes. Type 1 Diabetes, often mistaken for Type 2, is a genetic non-curable auto-immune disease where the pancreas is unable to produce insulin. Technology and research have made my life and others' easier. I'm here to show you how.

Evolution of Diabetes Technology
This source, written by Klemen Dovc, MD, Ph.D., and Tadej Battelino, MD, Ph.D., is very scholarly. It provides helpful information on Type 1 Diabetes in general, compares injections versus devices, and shows the evolution of insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitors, and artificial pancreas technology. I will use this source to show how the evolution of diabetes technology leads to medical advancements in the field of Type 1 Diabetes.
Possible uses- "I will use this source to show how the evolution of diabetes technology leads to medical advancements in the field of Type 1 Diabetes"(Dovc, Battelino 2019) "Insulin pump use is associated with improved metabolic control, less glucose variability, less hypoglycemia, and improved quality of life"(Dovc, Battelino 2019)

Type 1 Diabetes Technology: Advances and Challenges
This scholarly journal is very beneficial for my research because of its detail. It goes in-depth on a variety of aspects of newer medical technologies and how each can help people. I will use this source to show look into various medical devices and the pros and cons of each of them.
Possible uses- “These developments make this a time of unique promise for people with type 1 diabetes, as well as parents of pediatric patients, with novel technologies offering the potential opportunity to ease the burden of self-management and to improve glycaemic control, reduce hypoglycemia, and improve quality of life” (The Lancet)

Effectiveness and safety of an MPC algorithm for an artificial pancreas system in outpatients with T1D
This reflects a study done on an artificial pancreas system. This is very reliable because it is less opinionated. It provided the outcome of a study and explained it.I will use this to study how future technology can improve diabetes based on the results found.
Possible uses- “artificial pancreas system might be more effective and safe than conventional insulin therapy in terms of the risk of hypoglycemia and maintaining glucose levels within the target range in outpatients with T1D” (Kang, Hwang, Kwon, Kim 2022)

Evolution of Devices in Diabetes
This goes through a detailed array of medical advancements in a timeline-styled format. It has highly qualified researchers and their opinions involved. It will be a great contribution to my research. I will use this source to show the progression of medicine. Also, I can use the chart provided listing indications and contradictions of insulin therapy.
Possible uses- "Over the past few years, more advanced insulin delivery systems that better mimic physiology, with more accurate glucose sensing devices, have been developed that have affirmed the feasibility of closed-loop insulin delivery" (Penfornis, Personeni, Borot) "Thus, by definition, the artificial pancreas will, theoretically, free patients with diabetes from the responsibility of self-management of their condition" (Penfornis, Personeni, Borot)
